Hope Clubhouse
We had the pleasure to design the original food forest for the Hope Clubhouse in Fort Myers. The Hope Clubhouse SWFL supports adults with mental illness by offering opportunities for paid employment, access to education, housing, and wellness in an environment that fosters shared responsibility.
The design challenges for this project were interesting, as the only available land to plant the food forest were in the grass strips in between parking lots in their office park. The design and implementation had amazing results, showcasing a whole new model for planting in the grass strips in office parks and medians with productive edible plants and natives to provide for pollinators.
From the garden's initial design and installation, the dedicated garden manager and the remarkable members have collaboratively worked to enhance and maintain the garden's beauty and functionality. The Clubhouse boasts a well-equipped kitchen that utilizes fresh produce harvested from their gardens to prepare delicious meals for its members.
